Gloucester National Spiritualist Church

Gloucester National Spiritualist Church was founded in April 1954, there had been a spiritualist church in Gloucester for many years prior to this date, the services were held in a rented room in Russell Street. The church moved to Montpellier where some people wanted to terminate the affiliation with the National Spiritualist Union and some didn’t. The group split up and thats when the Gloucester National Spiritualist Church was started in a basement room.On the 12th May 1954 it was decided to start an open circle on Friday 16th April and from that day the Good Friday Circle has been held every year, as the anniversary of that occasion.
On Sunday 14th June 1959 a special meeting was held to inform the committee that a piece of land with a meeting room had been offered for sale. This is the land that the Church is now on.
The new Gloucester National Spiritualist Church was opened on Saturday 31st March 1962.
There have been many improvements 1979 saw the installation of the gas central heating, and 1981 had the water supply installed.
There have been many changes in the church but we still continue to grow and go from strength to strength.
We welcome anyone that wishes to come into our church.
And we continue to work for Spirit in Love, Peace and Harmony.
